Drone survey and drone LiDAR mapping
Map large plots and long corridors in days instead of weeks. We fly the DJI Matrice 350 RTK with Zenmuse L2 LiDAR, tie every flight to DGPS ground control, and deliver orthomosaics, terrain models and contour plans that are ready for design.
When a drone survey makes sense
A drone survey is the quickest way to capture sites that are large or hard to walk: road and canal corridors, river banks, mines, industrial plots and farmland. Photogrammetry gives a sharp orthomosaic and surface model. LiDAR adds laser points that reach the ground between leaves, so the terrain model stays reliable under trees and crops.
Where we use it
- Road, rail, canal and pipeline corridors
- River banks, flood plains and dam sites
- Mines, quarries and stockpile volumes
- Large plots, townships and industrial sites
- Construction progress monitoring
What you receive
- Orthomosaic (GeoTIFF) and Google Earth KMZ
- DSM and DTM
- Contour plan in AutoCAD (DWG)
- Classified point cloud (LAS / XYZ) on LiDAR jobs
- Cross-sections and L-sections where needed
- Survey report with datum, control points and accuracy checks
How we fly a survey
- 01Check the site's airspace zone on the Digital Sky map and plan the flights.
- 02Fix ground control points and check points with DGPS.
- 03Fly photogrammetry or LiDAR missions at the planned height and overlap.
- 04Process the data in DJI Terra, LiDAR360 and Global Mapper.
- 05Draft in AutoCAD / Civil 3D and compare against the check points.
Recent drone work
Drone and flood-plain survey of about 82.5 km along the Ganga for the Ganga Path, Munger to Bhagalpur, for Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ltd (BSRDCL). Drone LiDAR with bathymetry from Banka Dam to the plant site, Ch. 0 to 5,095 m, with a DTM and XYZ point cloud.
Questions
Do I need permission for a drone survey?
Drone flights follow the DGCA Drone Rules. Sites in the green zone of the Digital Sky airspace map can usually be flown without prior permission. Yellow and red zones need approval before flying. We check your site's zone when we prepare the quotation.
What is the difference between photogrammetry and LiDAR?
Photogrammetry builds the surface from overlapping photos and gives the best orthomosaic. LiDAR measures with laser pulses that reach the ground between leaves, so it gives a better terrain model on sites with trees or crops. Many projects use both.
How long does a drone survey take?
Flying is usually the quickest part of the job. The total time depends on the area, any airspace permission and the drawings you need, and it is written in the quotation.
