Bathymetric and hydrographic survey
Find out how deep it is, how much it holds and how much silt has settled. We survey ponds, lakes, reservoirs, dams, canals and rivers with a single-beam echo sounder and GNSS, and deliver bed contours, capacity tables and cross-sections.

How we survey water
- 01Fix TBMs on the bank with DGPS.
- 02Record the water surface level.
- 03Run the boat-mounted echo sounder (about 200 kHz) with GNSS along planned lines.
- 04Process soundings in Hypack and build the bed surface.
- 05Join the bed with drone or total station survey of the banks on the same datum.
Recent water work
Bathymetric and flood-plain hydrological survey along the Ganga for the Ganga Path (BSRDCL), whose data was used for hydraulic modelling by IIT Roorkee. Single-beam bathymetry with drone LiDAR from Banka Dam to the plant site. Capacity surveys of three ponds in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, with a separate report for each.
Questions
How is pond capacity calculated?
We build a surface from the surveyed bed levels and compute the volume between the bed and the water surface level. The report gives the water-spread area, depths and storage volume at that level.
Who arranges the boat?
A suitable local boat is usually arranged at site. The quotation states clearly who provides the boat and any permissions.
Can the land around the water be surveyed too?
Yes. Banks and nearby land are surveyed by drone or total station on the same datum, so you get one continuous drawing of land and water.
