DGPS survey, GNSS control and TBMs
Every good survey starts with good control. We establish DGPS control points and temporary benchmarks (TBMs) with base and rover GNSS, in RTK or static post-processed mode, and hand over a clear register of coordinates and levels.
Where DGPS control is needed
- Ground control for drone and LiDAR surveys
- Road, canal and pipeline alignments
- Bridge alignment and pillar coordinates
- Land demarcation and boundary pillars
- TBMs for construction sites, plants and colonies
What you receive
- Control point and TBM register with WGS-84 latitude and longitude, UTM easting and northing, and RL
- Description and photo of each point
- KML of all points for Google Earth
- Processing summary with closure checks
- TBM or pillar construction on request, priced per pillar
How we work
- 01Set up the base station on a known or derived point.
- 02Use RTK for fast topography and stake-out.
- 03Use static observation and post-processing for long baselines and main control.
- 04Check closure between TBMs and against known benchmarks.
- 05Issue the coordinate register and the KML.
Recent control work
Six TBMs established for the Banka Dam to plant site survey in Bihar. Control for 18 river cross-sections and bridge-alignment pillar schedules on the Ganga Path corridor.
Questions
What is the difference between RTK and static DGPS?
RTK gives corrected positions in the field in real time and suits topography and stake-out. Static observation records data for longer and is processed later, which suits main control points and long distances.
Which coordinate system do you use?
WGS-84 with UTM projection. Prayagraj and eastern Uttar Pradesh fall in UTM Zone 44N, Delhi NCR in Zone 43N, and most of Bihar in Zone 45N. Levels are tied to a known benchmark or to an assumed datum, and the report always states which.
Can you build TBM pillars at site?
Yes. Concrete TBM or boundary pillars can be supplied and installed. They are priced per pillar in the quotation.
