Overview
A transmission or distribution line needs a route that is buildable, a ground profile for tower design, and a clear record of every road, rail, river and power-line crossing. We survey the route with DGPS control along its length and capture the profile and crossings in detail.
Where the corridor runs through crops, orchards or tree cover, drone LiDAR gives true ground levels without cutting a path, and an orthomosaic from the same flight shows every structure near the line.
Why it matters
Tower design, clearances and crossing approvals all depend on an accurate route profile. Surveying the line once, properly, avoids redesign and right-of-way disputes later.
Our methodology
- Study the route on maps and KML
- Fix DGPS control and angle points
- Survey the profile and crossings
- Map the corridor by drone or LiDAR if needed
- Draft plan and profile and hand over

Deliverables
- Route plan and profile drawings (DWG / PDF)
- Angle-point and crossing coordinate schedule
- KML of the route for Google Earth
- Orthomosaic and point cloud where flown
From our work
Corridor mapping for highway, railway, pipeline and transmission line alignments is part of our drone and route survey work. Your design team uses our profile drawings for tower spotting.
Questions
Do you mark angle points on the ground?
Yes. Angle points can be marked with pegs or pillars and handed over with their coordinates.
Can drone LiDAR replace walking the whole route?
For the profile and corridor map, largely yes. Crossings and angle points are still checked on the ground with DGPS or total station.
Which coordinate system will you use?
WGS-84 / UTM by default, or the system your utility specifies.
